Apple MacBook Air in short is super small, super fragile, and super light. Just a slight tap on the screen closes down the system completely.

Apple MacBook, being the lightest MacBook in its category, sets in in the spotlight, surpassing other MacBook. The depth from the back (at .76 inches) tapering towards the front bezel (at .16 inches), makes this the slimmest.

Most laptops have a thicker look, because of the flat level of thickness all around. the design of the Apple MacBook Air is curved with a thickness of .04 centimeters all around. This definitely puts it in the spotlight.

The few limitations, such as no connectivity ports or optical drive are overcome by the many innovative features. Standard voltage processing parts and full size keyboard, as well as having an internet connections, are among these features.

Pre installed software is a plus on the Apple MacBook Air. A few of the software titles installed already include: Mac OS Xv10.5 Leopard operating system, Safari, iTunes, iMovie, Xcode, Time Machine, and many others.

Active participation in Greenpeace has always been a part of Apple. Because of this, the case is completely recyclable, as well as the circuit boards being BFR and PVC free. The retail packaging alone uses 56% less material than the MacBook. It is also Energy Star 4.0 certified, as well as EPEAT silver compliant.

Amis, who begins his second year as Professor of Creative Writing at The University of Manchester, will discuss Philip Larkin with critic and former Oxford Professor of Poetry James Fenton and Irish poet John McAuliffe.

Amis knew Larkin from an early age and has frequently written about his work.

The poet and novelist named by the Times as the greatest post-war English writer, was chosen as the nation’s best-loved poet in a 2003 survey by the Poetry Book Society.

The panel will undertake a frank analysis of his continuing influence and the controversy raised by the publication of his letters and biography.

Organisers expect a lively and stimulating evening concluding with a Q and A session, which will allow members of the public and students to put questions to the panel.

John McAuliffe co-directs the University’s Centre for New Writing, which is organising the event.

He said: “In his lifetime, Philip Larkin was often presented as the most typical and English of poets.

“But this reputation has been complicated by the subsequent publication of his letters, biography and previously unpublished poems and novels.

“His strangeness and extremity as a writer, what James Fenton has called his `singularity’, are increasingly clear, even in his most traditional, lyrical poems, and it is this singularity as much as his popularity and success which will be debated.

“What the panellists say should raise important questions about the status of poetry, and English-language literature now.”

2 Live Crew front man Luther “Uncle Luke” Campbell recently explained his efforts to put Miami on the map, and why Rick Ross’ corrections officer record doesn’t necessarily make him “no clean-squeaky motherf*cker.”

VH1’s newest reality star, Luke, spoke to Miami’s New Times about his role in 2 Live Crew and why it was his contributions that led to the Crew’s mainstream success.

“I was not just their hype man; I was the hook man,” he told New Times. “I gave them hits. The brain of that operation was me. They would write their verses, but it was all based on my hooks.”

Luke also described the $5 million deal he did with Atlantic Records for his label, of which 2 Live Crew was signed to.

“Hell yeah, I got $5 million from Atlantic Records,” he said. “They did a deal with Luke Records, and I owned Luke Records. They were doing a record deal with me and my company. 2 Live Crew can’t blame me for where they are at in their lives. They can only blame themselves.”

Taking full responsibility for helping all acts in 315 as well, Luke described his relationship with the city’s most popular record labels.

“You look at any record company in this town, somebody there worked for me,” he said. “The main people that work at companies like Slip-N-Slide or Poe Boy have worked for me. I trained them. The biggest promotion companies in Miami, they have either worked or interned for me.”

Add Prince Fielder’s two-run home run Tuesday and Ryan Braun’s grand slam Thursday to the top of the list of the most pressure-packed homers in Brewers history.

That’s according to Mario Ziino, a former front-office fixture and an unofficial club historian. Ziino has seen his share of big Brewers home runs.

Braun hit a two-out game-winning walk-off grand slam in the 10th inning to lift the Brewers to a 5-1 victory over the Pirates on Fan Appreciation Night at Miller Park. The win kept Milwaukee tied with the Mets for the National League Wild Card race with three games remaining in the regular season.

Fielder hit a two-out, two-run walk-off home run in the ninth inning to cap Milwaukee’s 7-5, come-from-behind victory over the Pirates at Miller Park that kept the Brewers’ playoff hopes alive.

Robin Yount hit two home runs off Jim Palmer, and the Brewers went on to a 10-2 victory over the Orioles in Baltimore in the season finale to claim the American League East title.

The only homer of the year hit by Ned Yost proved to be a game-winner as his ninth-inning pinch-hit three-run blast lifted the Brewers to a 6-3 win over the Red Sox in Boston. With the victory, the Brewers had a four-game lead with five to play.

The star-studded, live television production of Mister Roberts debuts on DVD on October 7, 2008 from Acorn Media. Capturing all the intimacy and electricity of live theatre, this stirring comedic drama rekindles the rousing warmth of the original production that won five Tony Awards on Broadway.

The time is 1945. The setting, a navy cargo ship far from battles raging in the Pacific. Longing to see real action, Lt. Doug Roberts (Robert Hays, Airplane!) wages a war of wills against Capt. Morton (two-time Oscar-nominee Charles Durning), a petty tyrant whom the rambunctious crew considers “approximately God.” Allied with Ensign Pulver (Kevin Bacon, Mystic River, Apollo 13, Footloose) and Doc (Howard Hesseman, WKRP in Cincinnati), Roberts finds himself torn between his ambition to serve his country and his duty to serve his men. The production also co-stars Marilu Henner (Taxi) as Nurse Girard.

By turns hilarious and heartbreaking, the script was supervised by Joshua Logan (Picnic, South Pacific), the Oscar-nominated and Tony?-winning original Broadway director and co-writer. Broadcast on NBC in 1984 and filmed before a studio audience, it gracefully combines the magic of a theatre performance and the daring of a live broadcast.

The original production of “Mister Roberts” won five Tony Awards in 1948 including Best Dramatic Actor for Henry Fonda and Best Play.

Animal welfare movement Let Live (Latet Lihyot) last week launched its campaign for the upcoming municipal elections in Tel Aviv, running on a platform of increasing municipal funds for animals and the environment.

Let Live chairman Reuven Ladiansky took a swipe at the Green Party, accusing its leaders of being more interested in keeping their seats in the municipal council than making good on their promise to advance environmental projects.

“The Green Party members, led by Deputy Mayor Pe’er Visner, have proven over the past five years that all they are interested in is receiving salaries and holding on to their posts,” Ladiansky told some 150 activists, many of whom came to the event with their pets.

Ladansky said municipalities and government authorities across the country should do more to improve what he described as the “dire” situation of animals in Israel and praised animal rights groups for their “admirable work” despite little or no help from the government.

Ladiansky thanked comedian Orna Banai, best known for her appearance in the Eretz Nehderet (Wonderful Country) satirical TV show and who defected from the Green Party, for supporting Let Live.

Actress Daphna Rechter, number four on Let Live’s election list, said Let Live believes in the need to educate people about animal welfare and the environment as a way of improving their lives.

I don’t know what the problem is at this point.

The MacBook will output to a 17" LCD I have, but not to the 20" LCD I have always used with it. The Mac mini, on the other hand, has no issue with outputting to either, using the same cable. I had the adapter tested at the local Apple store, because I had thought the adapter was bad, but they let me test my MacBook and adapter with an Apple display at the store and it worked without a hitch. When I cut or give power to the 20" LCD with the DVI cable plugged in, the MacBook’s screen will go blue for a few seconds as it always does when it connects or disconnects to an external display, but afterward does not even acknowledge it, and the 20′ LCD remains blank.

Again, the 20" LCD and the 17" LCD will work with the Mac mini, using the same DVI cable, and the MacBook will work with the 17" LCD and the Apple Store display using the same DVI cable and its own adapter, but the MacBook will not will not work with the 20" LCD. I have replicated my experiments with two different DVI cables, one a DVI-D Dual Link and another a DVI-D Single Link, with the same result. What is going on here?
