Historian to give talk Saturday about the rise of St. Cloud

Details: 407-742-0100. Ridge Art fundraiser Ridge Art Association of Winter Haven will have a fundraiser, An Art Safari, at 7 p.m. Saturday at the home of a patron. Patrons can participate in the theme by dressing for a safari or wearing animal prints. Food and spirits will be served. Guests may participate in a silent auction. The highlight of the evening will include member artists in action, participating in a live “Paint Around.” Two sets of member artists will have a limited amount of time to paint on four canvases before the painting is passed on to the next artist in line. After the canvas has been passed around, the artists get their painting back for 15 minutes to “touch up” what the others have done to their initial creation. Transition to adulthood Families are invited to attend Life After High School at Workforce Central Florida, 1392 E. Vine St. in Kissimmee, from 4 to 7 p.m. today. The event showcases more than 40 agencies with services that support students with disabilities as they move from school to adulthood. From 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., parents can choose a seminar on guardianship, understanding Social Security benefits, preparing for college or preparing for employment. Details: Joy Suldo at 407-343-8740.
